Friction a SEXY All-New Standalone from Emily Snow is now LIVE!

Former overachiever Lucy WillIams sucks at adulting.

Recent divorce, check.

Pending lawsuit, check.

A move back to Boston to live with her mother, triple check.

It can’t get much worse, right?

When she starts her new marketing job at EXtreme Effects, she’s positive shit’s stopped hitting the fan. Sure, what she’s advertising is a little … unorthodox, but it pays the bills. And since she’s seconds away from becoming Lucy Williams: Wednesday Night Bingo Enthusiast, she needs money to get the hell out of her mother’s house.

The only problem is her boss, Mr. Extreme himself: Jace Exley. He’s everything any sane woman dreams of—alpha, successful, ridiculously gorgeous. He’s also Lucy’s worst nightmare. Because like every overachiever, she has that underachiever she brushed off. The slacker who, once upon a time ago, was the object of her dirtiest schoolgirl fantasies.

Jace Exley—with his sarcastic smirk and delicious accent—just happens to be that guy.

And the friction between them?

Well, that’s the only adulting Lucy seems to be winning at.

 REVIEW

Friction was an extremely fun read. It brings together the buttoned-up professional, Lucy, and the laid back man who runs a kink business, Jace. The two of them have a history, back in high school they used to get on each other’s last nerve, what they don’t know is that each one has had a mutual attraction since. They try to put their attraction to the side, however, when your selling sex sometimes it just isn’t possible. These two eventually let the friction get to them, and man do sparks fly!

I really did enjoy this book, it pulled me in and captured my heart. I loved the relationship between the two main characters, Lucy and Jace. I loved that they had a history, and that it played into their relationship as adults. Jace was everything that Lucy’s ex-husband wasn’t…he was rugged, tattooed, kinky, and 100% swoon worthy. Lucy, was used to being 100% professional she is a driven young women, who has been given a shitty hand due to her lovely ex. However, Lucy is trying to make the most of it, even if that mean marketing for Jace’s company.

I really enjoyed how the story played out. I feel that Snow did a great job at evolving the relationship between Lucy and Jace. It may have been lust at first sight, but I didn’t feel that their relationship was an insta-love situation, it evolved through the book at a great pace. The ending on this one, however, I didn’t care for as much. I think it had a great build up all they way to the end. Without giving too much away, because spoiler suck, I think that the problem at the had a great lead up and was a great addition to the story. I did not, however, like the quick fix at the end. I feel like more time could have been spent on the resolution to the problem. It just seemed too quickly solved for me.

Besides that though, I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it for sure. Especially to anyone who loves a rugged, tattooed, kinky man! I am kind of hoping that Lucy’s best friend and a certain Mr. B get their own book in the future!!!
