Unconventional by Isabel Love | Release Blitz & Review

Title: Unconventional
Author: Isabel Love
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: July 20, 2017
Happily ever after—what a joke! I tried that once and ended
up divorced.
Now, I only want one thing from men.
Charlie Nelson is good at giving me that one thing. Really, really good.
So good, in fact, I discovered a new side of myself.
I never knew I liked to watch until I saw
his talented hands touching someone else.
I never knew I liked to be watched until I
felt his searing gaze on me.
Maybe happily ever after isn’t always a white picket fence,
wedding bells, and 2.5 kids.
Maybe it’s something a bit more…unconventional.
*Warning: Contains dirty talk, piercings and hot threesomes.
Intended for readers over 18 years of age.

This book was H-O-T!!! Like have a toy or significant other on standby hot!
Unconventional is the first book I have read by Isabel Love…and I’m never looking back. I will most definitely be exploring her other books. I am all about a good erotic romance and she gave me exactly what I needed in this one. Unconventional is the story of Quinn and Charlie. Quinn and Charlie are friends and a casual hookup, and one night Quinn discovers a new side of herself while at a club with Charlie. Why can’t she walk away when she stumbles on Charlie getting naughty with another girl? Well because it’s so much fun to watch of course. I have read my fair share of erotic romance, but this one was original to me. I loved the way that not only were they with each other but they were able to bring others into their bedroom as well.
Damn Isabel Love you light those sex scenes were on FIRE. This is by far the hottest book I have read so far this year. Yes, this book has a lot, and I mean A LOT of sex…but it didn’t deter from the story. Love’s writing had a good steady flow to it. I fell in love with the characters and their journey from no strings to relationship status. Charlie and Quinn’s chemistry was off the carts, shot up into space status off the charts. And oh man, let’s take a moment to cool off from the scenes where Quinn and Charlie “played” I think I loved their two add ons just as much as I loved them! That scene in the strip club had me combusting! 😉
I loved that Love included some of the family drama for our characters as well, we got to see how they ended up with the attitude they had towards relationships. A lot of erotic romance fall short on the story side of the writing, and focus 100% on the sex. Unconventional did not and I was so happy about it.  I was not disappointed in any way with this book…and if you are a lover of erotic romance, or even just SUPER HOT reads, this is a must for you.

What an
odd date this is
taking me out to watch another man give me orgasms.
A giggle
erupts from my throat at the thought.
“What’s so
funny?” He grins over at me as he starts up the car and pulls out into the

He narrows
his eyes at me. “What kind of woman?”
know…threesome kind, or whatever this is.” I wave my hand in front of me.
“The kind
of woman that likes to explore her sexuality? The kind of woman that likes to
try new things? The kind of woman that doesn’t let society dictate the way she

Hmm. I don’t mind being that kind

My mirth
dies and my smile fades at his serious tone. I meet his blue eyes and raise my

“You listen

My chest
squeezes at his sincerity and I feel so much better about tonight. I mean, I am
excited, but I must admit I was afraid of the judgement factor, of what

Sin by Emma Hart | Blog Tour With Review

Damien fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.

Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.

And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.

I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.

He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.

Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.

Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.

One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…

(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

“If I had to compare him to something, it’d be a romance novel. One that was deep and dark and questionable, full of secrets and twisty-turns layered under lies and sex and lust.”

You guys this book!!!

giphy (1)

Okay, I will try to keep this review on topic…but man it is going to be hard. I fucking loved this book! It was absolutely everything I could have wanted and more. I think this is the first book I have had a chance to read from Emma Hart, even though I have been a follower of her work for a while. And apparently I really have been missing out, no surprise there!! Sin was steamy and sexy and brilliant. Damien Fox was just that a fox…and you know how I like my men!

“If horniness had a sound, it would be his voice.”

Oh yes, yes it would! I loved the relationship that developed between Damien and Dahlia, they simply had such great chemistry. I loved that Damien was a total alpha business man, and Dahlia was a strong willed independent business woman. These two against each other lead to some serious heat. *fans self* Hart’s writing was so well done. I loved the small details that she included. Not to mention she knows how to write some damn good naughty scenes. Add on top of  that the fact that Hart brought a level of humor to her writing as well that seriously had me laughing out loud at points…it was just a win all around.

“There was no place like a bookstore. Multiple bookstores were even better. Kind of like orgasms. Happiness was where the books- and orgasms- were, after all.”

Now I am just going to take a moment to appreciate that Hart created my absolute perfect life in this book. Book themed bar? Check. Alpha male? Check. Delicious sex? Check. And can we take a moment and just talk about the trip to the bookstore? I mean seriously I think that is my biggest fantasy!

If this hasn’t already found its way onto your TBR then run don’t walk to goodreads to add it! I will definitely be catching up on my Emma Hart reading backlog…not to mention the second book in this series Lust comes out in September and I can’t wait!!!

The Knocked Up Plan | Review

Title: The Knocked Up Plan

Author: Lauren Blakely

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Format: E-book

There are three little words most guys don’t want to hear on the first date. Not those…I mean these… “knock me up.”

This single gal has had enough of the games, the BS and the endless chase. I know what I want most, and it’s not true love. It’s a bun in the oven, and I’m not afraid to hit up my sex-on-a-stick co-worker to do the job. Ryder is gorgeous, witty and charming — and he’s also a notorious commitment-phobe. That makes him the perfect candidate to make a deposit in the bank of me.

I won’t fall for him, he won’t fall for me, and there’s no way baby will make three.

There are four words every guy wants to hear on the first date — “your place or mine?”

When my hot-as-sin co-worker makes me a no-strings-attached offer that involves her place, my place, any place — as well as any position — I can’t refuse. Besides, I’ve got my own reasons to take her up on her deal even with her one BIG condition.

There’s no way I’ll want more from one woman than any position, any where, any night? Except . . . what if I do?

If you need me I’ll just be over here swooning!!

I know when I pick up a Lauren Blakely book I am in for a fun rom-com with a lot of heart. The Knocked Up Plan was no different! The idea for this book was so original. Nicole wants a baby…she wants a baby so bad she is willing to go it alone. She has accepted single-motherhood and is perfectly happy taking the road less traveled to get where she wants. But there is still the small requirement of the baby batter. When Nicole doesn’t fall in love with any of the donors available she decides what can be wrong about asking her delicious co-worker to provide a sample. Both of the MC’s have an aversion to relationships, so nothing can go wrong right?? Wrong.

The Knocked Up Plan is so witty and hilarious. Blakely’s writing does it again. The baby idea driving this whole book was just so original, I was so excited to read something a little out of the box and this definitely didn’t let me down (but really when has Blakely ever let me down?!?).  This book really had such a great flow to it. Not to mention the dynamic between Nicole and Ryder was phenomenal. Nicole was such a independent female which I enjoyed oh so much! And Ryder, MMMMMMM, totally swoon worthy, and a little damaged from a past relationship (which you know I’m a sucker for) was a great counter to Nicole.

I read this whole book in one sitting…if that doesn’t prove how much I loved it I don’t know what else will. There were so many laughs and tender moments it was just hard not to fall in love!

Thoughts (2)

Damage Control is the second book in the Dirty Money series if you want to see my review for the first one, Hard Rules, find it here.

So Damage Control picks up right where Hard Rules left off. Shane has just pieced some very important things together about Emily and wants some answers. So as the storyline picks up we follow Emily and Shame through some continuing struggles, both within their relationships and with their families. I did enjoy this book, although maybe not as much as the first one. Damage Control had a case of the “second book syndrome”. We got to discover more about the two MC’s and their background, especially Emily. However, I felt like this book was a little bit more filler. I really did enjoy reading and discovering some of the secrets of what led Emily and Shane on the path to where they are now (no spoilers for you guys!!). I just wish that this one had been just as explosive as the first.

I am highly anticipating the 3rd book in this series Bad Deeds, and it is on my TBR for July. I have heard great things so I can’t wait. I hope it is a little bit more exciting than this one!

But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless…could this be love?

Anna Todd’s After fanfiction racked up over 1 billion reads online and captivated readers across the globe. Experience the Internet’s most talked-about book for yourself!

There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything AFTER … Life will never be the same.

Alright so honestly I was SO EXCITED to have the opportunity to review this book. I have seen it around, and it has always pulled my attention. So of course I jumped at the chance. This is the first book from Anna Todd I have read, and while I did enjoy her writing style, this book fell a little short of my expectations. I will say that this book and I had a love hate relationship…I think that the ending really made up for a bit of my feelings toward this one.

After is the story of good girl Tessa and super bad boy Hardin. These two meet through Tessa’s college roommate and at first they can’t stand each other but then they seem to grow closer, and eventually end up together. I really enjoyed the storyline of Tessa and Hardin, it’s your typical “bad boy” story, what I didn’t enjoy so much was the back and forth. This couple was a serious roller-coaster, I didn’t really know how to keep up with it. Tessa is overly conservative, and while she has a boyfriend back home she doesn’t understand why she has this draw to Hardin. She is so sweet and innocent. Hardin on the other hand is a jackass. He is so rude and mean and such a stereotypical punk. While I am a sucker for bad boy personas, and I did fall a little for him, Hardin at some points just got on my nerves. Every once in a while we got to glimpse his sweet tender sides, but then two minutes later he was back to being mean. These two went from falling in love one minute to fighting the next… At some points I seriously considered throwing my kindle at the wall. Angst is good, hell I love me some good angst and slow burning romances, but there reaches a point where it is just too much and After just toed the line for me.

When I wasn’t wanting to pull my hair out I did find this book fairly entertaining. Looking back on it as a whole, it wasn’t a bad read, but it definitely isn’t going to end up on my favorites list either. One things I do have to say, is that anyone who decides to read this show know that this relationship is not a healthy one. No one should go into thinking that this is how they should be treated. So that is my warning for this book, and I hope readers keep that in mind while diving into this story. That being said, just because it isn’t wholly my cup of tea doesn’t mean it won’t be yours. I think anyone who loves angsty bad boy stories should give this one a shot.

The Legend By Donna Grant | Blog Tour with Review

The Legend, an all-new sexy standalone from Donna Grant is available now!

The Legend by Donna Grant
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
Genre: Contemporary Romance

They live to protect. They live to fight for honor and justice. They live to love the women who have captured their souls. These are the Sons of Texas, from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.

In The Legend, Callie Reed doesn’t need a man to protect her. An expert sharpshooter and renegade hacker, this Texas-born spitfire’s got the skills and the courage to stand up to any danger―no matter how deadly. But when she becomes the target of a shadowy organization known as the Saints, Callie is forced to team up with the one man she can’t outshoot: the gorgeous, and infuriating, Lone Star legend named Wyatt Loughman…

A Delta Force Colonel with a rock-hard body and stone-cold heart, Wyatt has been teasing and tormenting Callie since they were playmates on his family’s ranch. Of course, he’s wildly attracted to the fiery, strong-willed Callie. But he’s always hidden his feelings behind a wall of Texas tough and military cool, even as he’s burning up with desire. Can Wyatt save Callie’s life―without putting her love in the line of fire?

The Legend is the 3rd book in the Sons of Texas series. I was new to Donna Grant when I picked up this book, and I was super excited to dive into an action-packed romance. This one did not disappoint. It was packed full of adventure, and mystery, and most importantly sexy alpha men. Although I knew this was the 3rd in the series, and I knew I hadn’t read the first two, I went ahead and decided I would read this one anyway. I know, I know I am so bad at reading out of order! The other two books follow different couples, so while I was mostly alright and picked up on the storyline I think I would have been able to follow a little bit easier had I started at the beginning. So that is what I would recommend when picking up the Sons of Texas books, and I will most definitely be re-visiting this after I have a chance to read the first two.

But on to more about the book…

The Legend is, at its heart a second chance romance. The two MC’s Callie and Wyatt had a fling when they were younger that ended in a soul crushing manner, particularly for Callie. But when a dangerous situation brings them face to face again for the first time in at least 10 year, a hell of a lot of sparks fly. The Legend is told in a dual POV way, which means we get to be inside the head of both Callie and Wyatt.

Okay, so let me just state that I LOVED Callie.  She was such a strong female character. Despite the family she comes from, she is determined to prove that she is destined for more than just a life of crime. The Loughman family takes her in and trains her to be a hacking genius, as well as how to fight for herself. She is much happier handling her own battles, and doesn’t need a man (especially Wyatt) around to save her. She can shoot and fight just as well as any of the guys, and is never going to sit on the sidelines. I just thought she was such a BADASS. Grant wrote her character so well, and in honesty this is what a strong female should look like.

I also have to say that I seriously loved Wyatt’s character. He is one SEXY alpha male. He loves Callie, even though he struggles not to let it show. But my oh my this guy has such a big heart. He will do anything to protect Callie, not only from his enemies, but also from her family. He is strong and broody and it was so hard not to fall in love with him. Hell, it was hard not to fall in love with the two of them together…because they are absolutely perfect!

Grant has such a great writing style. This book kept me engrossed from the very beginning. There were so many things going on, bad guys to fight and action packed scenes that this book read like I was watching an action movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I was even a little sad when it was over. I really just overall loved this book. I look forward to reading the first two books of this series and then re-reading this one…you know just in case I missed anything. If you like your romances action packed, seriously pick up this series.

Tycoon by Katy Evans | A Review With A Little Rant

TITLE: Tycoon

AUTHOR: Katy Evans

He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

Untitled design (3)

Okay, so let me start out by saying I LOVE Katy Evans. I have really enjoyed everything I have read from her, The Whitehouse Duet, Ladies Man, and Womanizer are some of my favorites. Tycoon though, just didn’t have it. I have seen this book getting so much hype with other bloggers, and I just don’t understand it.

Until the 50% mark I was kind of trying to feel the storyline. It had potential, I maybe didn’t love it, but up until that point I didn’t hate it either. So what changed? The writing. I swear from 50% to about 70% the writing became so choppy I was having to go back and re-read on multiple occasions. From about 75% to the end the writing smoothed back out a little but still wasn’t the great writing I have become accustomed to with Evans. I seriously read this book TWICE thinking maybe it was just me. Unfortunately, the second time around it just made it worse, I only made it to about 70%.

Now, on to the the characters. I normally connect so well with  male leads in books. I am always open with my love of a good male MC. However, I really just didn’t like the way Aaric was written. He was arrogant, but not in a good way. I feel like he yanked Bryn around too much, and I simply just didn’t connect with him. Nor did I really feel like we got to know the real him. On the other hand, I didn’t really connect with Bryn either. Simple as that. I did enjoy the backstory Evans created for her, but that was about it.

Generally, I love a second chance romance. I love a “work” relationship. I love the sexy businessman type. But for Tycoon encompassing all of these I just really couldn’t do it. On top of all of this I think the ending was an easy way out. I think that what happened in the end could have been played up way more throughout the story. (I don’t want to give any spoilers away) but Aaric had a problem, and bam Bryn puts some puzzle pieces together and magically it is all fixed. I think that this aspect could have either been played up in a different way, or simply just not included. The way it was handled read like a last minute attempt to add some extra drama.

I am very appreciative to the author for receiving an ARC of this, and I wish I had enjoyed it more. I understand that this book has received a lot  of hype, and that tastes are not always the same. So maybe this book is for others and you will enjoy it, in fact I hope you do. But for me, I will just be over here hoping that Sara and Ian’s story is more of a hit. ( and I am super excited to hear their story!!)
