Sin by Emma Hart | Release Blitz

Damien fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.

Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.

And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.

I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.

He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.

Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.

Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.

One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…

(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

“Why wouldn’t you talk about your work in the restaurant?” I set my purse on the floor by my feet and shifted to face him. “I’ve never seen anyone get out of a dinner so fast.”

A small smile tugged the edge of his lips up. “Just like I said in there, some things shouldn’t be discussed in public.”

“Like politics and religion.”

“You have a very smart mouth.” He glanced down at said smart mouth. “Do you ever turn it off?”

“Never,” I reassured him. “Now, we’re no longer in public, so tell me about what you do.”

He rested an arm along the back of the seats. His fingertips landed just inches from my hair, and I gave a cursory glance at their closeness.

Shivers tickled their way down my spine as he stared at me. He was entirely still except for the way his eyes flicked left and right repeatedly. It felt an awful lot like he was taking me in, committing me to memory for some strange reason.

“A lot of people don’t like me. Pissing people off is part of business, and I’ve done that a lot, so I try to keep my work private. It’s that simple, sweetheart.”

“I get it. But now, it is private.” I wasn’t going to let this drop. I’d quit reading before I did that. “I’ve told you a lot about my bar tonight, so now tell me something.”

“You have the innate ability to make me feel like I’m back in high school and writing an essay about being reasonable.”

“If you’d done that, you might know how to be reasonable.” I paused when he laughed. It was low blow time again. “Look, Mr. Fox—”

“You don’t have to tell me anything about your business and what you do, but given that you’re failing embarrassingly in your attempt to buy my business, it’s probably in your best interests to start talking.”

He leaned forward and took my hair between his finger and thumb. Slowly, he twirled the strands around his finger, each twist lightly tugging against my scalp. “You should have been a cop. You’re very persuasive.”

“In that case, you could probably learn a thing or two from me. Your own skills are lacking.”

“I don’t know.” He dropped his voice to a low murmur. “I think, if I tried hard enough, I could persuade you into a few things.”

I raised my eyebrows. We’d moved on from talking about business. Once again, the Master of Deflection was doing what he’d been doing for most of our evening together.

“I still haven’t forgiven you for your antics yesterday, so I wouldn’t even try it.” I tapped his hand so he released his hold on my hair. It tumbled away from his finger so I could smooth the strands back down and gave him a pointed look.

“Forgiven me, or yourself?” His eyes glinted knowingly. Almost self-assuredly.

Hell, there was no almost about it. He knew exactly how I’d felt when he’d left me. He knew exactly what he’d done to me, and I did, too. Denying that I was annoyed at myself because I could still remember how it’d felt when he’d taken my chin in his hand was pointless.

“Both,” I answered, sitting up a little straighter. “That doesn’t invite you to exercise poor judgment and make another attempt to mix business with pleasure?”

“Attempt? Sweetheart, if I’d attempted to do that, there would have been a lot less business and a lot more pleasure before I’d left you.”

“You think I’d give in to you so easily?”

At those words, Damien slid smoothly across the leather seats. His arm, still resting along the back of them, hung down behind me, his thumb just brushing against my back. The rest of his body was mere inches from mine, and I bit the inside of my lip as he trailed his fingertips up my bare arm. My eyes followed his feather-light touch while his stayed fixated on my face.

He coasted his fingers over my shoulder where he touched them to my jaw. Lightly, he tilted my face around and up until I had no choice but to look him in the eyes again—to look right there where I could see exactly how much he wanted me.

Full of temptation.

Heavy and intense, his eyes screamed of raw lust and selfish need.

“I don’t think you’d give in at all,” he whispered. “I think your body would do that for you, and you’d be helpless to it.”

“You think a lot of yourself, don’t you?” I said quietly. I touched my finger to his belt, then ran it up the length of his torso, ghosting it over the solid packs of muscle that made up his body until I flicked the starchy collar of his shirt. “You think you can do this and I’ll give in to what is essentially a biological reaction? I’m stronger than you take me for, you know.”

He curled his fingers around my chin and dipped his face to mine. “She says with a racing heart.”

I pressed one finger against his mouth and ran another along his strong thigh…right up to where his hard cock was straining against the soft material of his pants. “Don’t you hate it when your attraction to someone is so obvious?”

His jaw clenched. “If you have any sense at all inside that gorgeous head of yours, you’ll move your hand.”

Beautiful Mistake by VI Keeland | Release Blitz

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

The Taste of Her Words by Candace Knoebel | Release Blitz

Today we have the gorgeous release day launch for The Taste of Her Words by Candace Knoebel! Check it out and grab your copy today!

Title: The Taste of Her Words

Author: Candace Knoebel

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Taste of Her Words:

Andrea was my first taste of love.

She was there throughout my childhood and into adulthood. Her words were a secret I wasn’t supposed to know. Truths and pain bled onto papers that shredded my innocence and carved a hole in my heart only she could fill.

Her words were my first kiss. They were the uneven breaths I took when I saw her, and my hands between her thighs inside the dreams she haunted. She was my best friend’s older sister and, even though she didn’t know it yet, she was the pen that would ink our destiny into the stars.

Dean tempted me to cross a line I never thought I would.

It had been so long since someone looked at me the way he did. Five years since his starry gaze caressed my words and I ran from a kiss I couldn’t shake. He was everything I should stay away from, but how could I resist the beautifully broken man whose touch stoked a fire within my soul?

Dean was the missing words to my fairy tale. The parchment I could safely put my most intimate thoughts to. But when secrets from the past catch up with us, how could our perfectly plotted ending survive?

Exclusive Excerpt:

I thought he was going to kiss me again when he leaned in. I wanted him to so badly. Maybe even wanted him to lay me down and take me here, in this tree where it all began, but he kept leaning and reached into the hole of the tree, pulling out the plastic box that held the words from my past. I watched him as my pulse pounded in my wrists. As he lifted the lid off and then shuffled through the folded shapes of papers.

“Here,” he said when he found what he was looking for. “This was my first taste of you.”

I took the unfolded piece of paper from him.

“Read it out loud. I want to hear your voice paint the words,” he said, seducing me with his lips and his eyes. His scent I swore I’d never forget. Heat and need flowed from every pore.

Spill into me, until all my holes are filled,” I recited, nerves flitting around in my body.

I looked over at him, at the danger in his eyes, and felt myself falling further and deeper than I ever fell. I’d never shared my words with anyone but him, and this was so much more than a touch or a kiss. This was his mind peeking into mine. His lips caressing my thoughts.

“Keep going.”

Intimacy stained his voice, the simple words taking on the shape of his body hovering over mine.

He took the lidded box from my lap and set it beside him. I watched. Not moving. Not breathing as his hand skimmed up my leg, following the curve of my inner thigh.

I couldn’t think straight.

Numb and spinning, make me feel.” I blinked fast, trying to catch my breath as his hand made its way between my legs, pressing firmly against me.

“Take your shirt off,” he commanded as a light drizzle started overhead, our breaths heavy and eager. It pattered against the tin roof, dulling the thudding sound of my heart beating in my ears.

Eyes locked on his, I took my shirt off, the cool from the rain a stark contrast from the heat brewing inside me. If he touched me, that would be it. I’d lose it.

This was a new layer of Dean I’d never experienced. The predatory look in his eyes immobilized me as I waited impatiently for his next move. For his perfect command.

I made mistakes. Too many to tell.”

He traced the outline of my breasts, making my skin tingle. Moved closer until I was on my back, the paper gone somewhere beside me.

Spill into me, until I love myself,” I finished, desire coating my voice.

He sealed the words with his lips, running his tongue over mine, tasting them. Loving them as his thumb traced the contour of my jaw. His breath was warm and filling as he took his time kissing me. Filling me and all my holes one kiss at a time.

Jameson Following
Rico up the steps, we jog up to the top level, and sprint toward the concession
stands. With the Sixers getting their asses handed to them, the halls are
starting to crowd. People shuffle about, knocking into us as we pass. Once we
reach the counter, I shake my head, disappointed, because the concession stand
has closed for the night.

“I don’t
think they have any more nachos, kiddo. Would you settle for soda and another
hot dog?”
Rico folds
his arm over his chest and pouts. “But I want nachos.”
all out.” I clamp my hand down on his shoulder and move him in front of me so
he can get a better look at what they have left. “You can have a hot dog,
pretzel, or ice cream. Which one do you want?”
“I think I
can help you out,” a woman says from behind me.
At first, I
don’t realize she’s talking to me. Not until she strokes my arm with her
fingers, commanding my attention. Her touch sends a chill through me. She
smells sweet, like honey, and good enough to eat.
I spin
around, holding onto Rico. The girl smiles so wide that it reaches up to her
bright, blue eyes. Tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, she moves
closer to me. She has a girl next-door look about her, but she’s also sporty,
like Charlie, and is in full basketball gear, looking as though she just
stepped off the court.
A girl that
reminds me of Charlie is never a bad thing. She’s the coolest girl I have ever
known. Despite being subpar at most sports, I’ve always loved them and continue
to coach youth basketball with Charlie.
beyond words, I have trouble coming up with anything decent to say as I take
her in, thinking of all the dirty things I’d like to do with her mouth. As her
lips part, her breath hitches. She’s about to say something when Rico breaks
the silence.
Rico demands.
I laugh, as
does the girl in front of me. Her laughter is soft and feminine and like music
to my ears.
“I can help
you out with your nacho problem.” She holds out her hand for me to shake. And I
do, mostly because I want an excuse to touch her. “I’m Regan, and you are…” She
waits for me to stop acting like a moron and get my shit together.
O’Connor. Jamie. My friends call me Jamie.” Wow! Real smooth, dude.
“I like
Jameson better,” she says, grinning. “The name suits you.”
“Thanks, I
guess.” I stuff my hands into my jean pockets. “Regan isn’t a name you hear
often either.”
“That’s my
dad for you.” She chuckles to herself as if there’s a private joke behind her
name. “How about you two handsome guys follow me, and I’ll get you those
“Yay! Thank
you!” Rico latches onto her by wrapping his arms around her stomach.
“Cute kid
you have here,” she says, staring at me while patting Rico on the back.
“I don’t
know about all that,” I deadpan. “Rico is a pain. You can keep him if you’d
“Hey!” Rico
finally unhooks himself from Regan to give me the stink eye. “Take it back.”
Hooking my
arm around Rico, I walk down the long hallway next to Regan. “I’m kidding. I’d
never give my buddy away.”
“Rico,” she
says as if thinking to herself and staring down at him to get another glance at
his face. “You don’t hear that name often either. Have we met before?”
“No, I
don’t think so. You have the kind of face I wouldn’t forget.”
She laughs,
blush spreading across her cheeks. But she doesn’t respond to my stupid comment
that sounded like a pickup line, even though it wasn’t intended as one.
The crowds
are getting heavier as we pass, and the buzzer still hasn’t sounded, which
means we have time to get back to our seats. I hope. But I’m also unsure if I
want to go back now that I have Regan’s company. After we loop around the
corner, she stops in front of a different concession stand.
“Hey, Joe.”
Regan waves to a balding man behind the counter. “Can I get two nachos and two
Cokes for my new friends?” She winks at me as she says this.
She has a
certain ease about her that reminds me of Charlie. You can be yourself around
girls like them. Except, for some reason, she makes me nervous. I think of
asking her out as we wait for Joe to fill the plastic containers with cheese.
What if she shoots me down? Not that it would matter. It’s not like we will see
each other again. What do I have to lose?
Joe hands
the nachos to Rico first, and then, the other set to me. Regan takes a chip
from my tray, dunks it in cheese, and shoves it into her mouth with her eyes
trained on me. We share a moment. With me focusing on her mouth as she chews,
it takes me a second before I realize Joe is trying to get my attention to hand
me a cup of soda.
you.” I lift the drink from the counter and hold it up in acknowledgment. Then,
I turn to Regan, who has stolen another chip from me. “How is it that you have
the hook up around here?”
“I know a
guy who knows a guy,” she deadpans, laughing to herself.
“What are
you doing this weekend?”
I’m usually
not so forward with women. My question surprises me just as much as Regan. I
like to check women out, make sure they’re not crazy or up to Charlie’s
standards before I ask them out on a date. But I feel comfortable around Regan.
Plus, she didn’t even know me and went out of her way to get Rico food. The
least I can do is return the favor and buy her a decent meal that doesn’t
consist of processed cheese and corn chips.
much. Are you asking me out, Jameson O’Connor?” She inches closer to me and the
tension between us is burning like a lit match.
“Yeah, I
suppose I am asking you out. So, what do you say? Do you want to have dinner
with me on Saturday night?”
She holds
her finger up to her lip, pretending to think it over. The wait is killing me. Say
yes already.
Before she
can respond, I hear Alex call out, “There’s the man-of-honor. We’ve been
looking for you everywhere.”
I was so
caught up in Regan and getting Rico his nachos that I’d forgotten about the
game. How is it I didn’t even notice the buzzer go off, only the people tearing
through the halls in a rush to get out of the building?
“I’m right
here,” I say, annoyed.
Our entire
wedding party follows behind Alex, including Charlie, who has a strange look on
her face. She seems confused, but I have no idea why.
Coming up
next to me, Charlie does something I least expect when she locks onto Regan.
She hugs her as if they have known each other for years.
“How are
you?” Charlie asks, taking a step back from Regan to stand next to me. “It’s
been a while. Is your dad keeping you busy?”
shrugs. “You know my dad.”
glances at me, confused, and then, back to Regan. “What are you doing out here
with Jamie? How do you guys know each other?”
“We don’t,”
I interject before she can respond. “They were out of nachos at the concession
by our seats, and Regan helped us out.”
“Mind your
own business, Parker.” Regan’s tone is playful. She speaks to him as if she’s
good friends with Alex.
Who is
this chick?
“Oh, shit,”
Tyler says, stealing the show with his dominance, as he moves through the crowd
to get to Regan. “Are you gonna tell your dad we’re up to no good again?”
blushes, looking away from him and to me. She holds my gaze for a few seconds
before rolling her eyes at Tyler. “Will you ever let me live that down, Kane? I
was a teenager back then.”
“You’re not
a kid anymore,” he jokes, and that earns him an elbow to the biceps from Regan.
“Shut it,
Kane, before I shut it for you.”
Carter exchanges pleasantries with Regan, I start to feel left out of this
conversation. Everyone seems to know Regan except for me. And she never had the
chance to answer my question.
“So, you’re
with Coach,” Regan says to me. “I had no idea.”
“Why? Would
you have treated me differently if I you had known?”
She nods.
“Yes, actually, I would have.”
I ask, hoping she will elaborate.
“I was
about to say yes, but now…” Her voice trails off, leaving me even more confused
by the conversation.
What has
changed since Charlie and the gang had to show up and ruin everything?
“I don’t
mix business with pleasure. Sorry.” She gives my arm a pity stroke that sets my
skin on fire.
Why is
she sorry?
flashes a tiny small before saying her goodbye’s to everyone in our group,
including me. “It was nice meeting you, Jameson.”
“Wait.” I
grab her forearm as she walks away. “You never answered my question.”
A sullen
expression crosses her face. “Under different circumstances, I would’ve said
yes to you in a heartbeat.”
circumstances?” I ask, bewildered.
“I can’t
get mixed up in my father’s business. I’m sorry. It’s just not a good idea. But
I’m glad we met. Come by and see me sometime. I’ll make sure you have nachos
for the next game.”
giving me time to interject, she waves over her shoulder at me, falling in line
with the rest of the crowd, as she strolls down the hall.
Charlie leans
close and whispers into my ear. “Did you ask Regan out?”
I frown.
“Yeah, but she shot me down.”
doesn’t date athletes.”
“But I’m
not an athlete,” I counter, “not even close.”
shrugs. “Yeah, but I bet she thinks you are one just by association with me.”
“Why would
she think I’m one of your players?” I stare down at my clothes. I’m built, but
nowhere near the kind of conditioning that screams professional athlete.
“You’re in
much better shape that you realize, Jamie.” She acts nonchalant. “It’s probably
for the best. If things didn’t work out for you, it would mess up my
relationship with her father, and I can’t have that.”
“Who is her
father?” The question of the hour.
It takes me
a minute to recognize the name. “Her dad is the Mike Turner?”
“The one
and only,” Charlotte says.
I scratch
the stubble on my chin, trying to process the news. Mike Turner is the general
